Our Team

  • Kate Ballantyne

Kate is the founder and lead instructor at Ballantyne Studio. With a background in competitive and synchronised swimming, Kate discovered her passion for teaching others in her youth and continued as a Swim Instructor for a few decades. After suffering a shoulder injury that stopped her from entering the pool herself, she was recommended to try reformer pilates. And well the rest is history…

Kate focuses on form & technique (and having fun!), this is essential to reaping the benefits of reformer pilates. In her classes, you will experience her exuberant personality in a non-judgemental and casual space.

  • Carol Hall

After spending her life enjoying fitness, she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in her early twenties. Pilates enabled her to maintain a level of fitness and feel in control of her health. She managed the impact of her condition and recover quickly after surgeries/issues.

Carol initially completed her Mat Pilates teaching qualification, more recently qualifying as a Reformer Pilates instructor, and Tower.

  • Heidi Cowen

Passionate about sport from a very young age, she swam her way through her youth to achieve County standards in swimming. She then continued to teach swimming to all ages and abilities over the 20 years.

Heidi now loves instructing group fitness classes to pass on her energy and enthusiasm to encourage our community to stay fit and healthy.

She teaches a good variety of classes including swimming and aqua areobics, Les Mills Body Pump & Trip, indoor cycling, Kettlebells, Circuit & Hiit training, alongside Mat Pilates and Reformer.

Her experience in other areas of the fitness world informs her instructing style and allows her to bring an extra depth into her classes.
